Keith Peters was the founding member of Katzenbar in 1989, James Basden joined him in 1995.

 
keith_(1)Keith Peters moved from England to South Africa in 1981 to work for Sigma Motor Corporation (Ford).
Originally apprenticed as an Auto Electrical Engineer, Keith had a varied career prior to Katzenbar - from working on North Sea Oil Rigs to managing Marketing and Dealer Training at BMW South Africa.
In February 2021, Keith moved back to the UK (North Lincolnshire).

James_ThailandJames Basden's first job was in a Merchant Bank in the City of London, after which he moved into IT and then onto Project Management.
He went to South Africa from the UK in 1988 to implement a major IT system at BMW.
James completed his MBA with Henley UK in 2003.
In May 2021, James also moved back to the UK (Herefordshire).

James and Keith first worked together when they ran BMW South Africa's Parts & Accessories department
in the late 1980's and early 1990's.

 
Katzenbar was formed in 1989 and over the past 36 years, Katzenbar and its sister companies have had an interesting and varied 'life'.  In 2019, we decided to register Katzenbar in the UK to handle our predominantly international business.

Initially Katzenbar continued with its corporate experience writing Marketing Plans and other business documents (such as Scope of Work and Feasibility Studies), but this developed into Clients requesting Business Plans.
About 25 years ago, clients began asking us to help them with funding for their Business Plans.
Our interaction with international Funders has helped us understand what Loan Funders require for a Bankable Business Plan (BBP) to be successful.

Since Covid, the trend has been companies preferring Equity funding, rather than Loans. 
We have thus adapted our experience to help Clients summarise their business opportunity into a Pitch Deck for Investors.
n.b. even for Equity funding, it is a good idea to have a supporting Business Plan, but this does not need to be as comprehensive as a Bankable Business Plan.

As can be seen on our Home Page, we also have several other funding options and consulting skills to help clients around the world.

We have also started, operated, and sold our own businesses - effectively "
